How to embed YouTube videos.

Ever wanted to share a YouTube video on a site? It's easy! Here's how!

First of all, you need to have a video you want to share.

On every video page, you find 'Share' and 'Embed' buttons.

Share simply gives you options to share the video's link.

But that is something everybody knows by memory, right?

So, we will be focusing on the embed feature in this blog post.

Simply click on the embed button and a new little menu should slide down.

Here, the highlighted code should be copied to where you want your video to show. Remember, not all forums and blogs support this feature.

Is the video too big, or you'd like it bigger?

Simply put, click on the little boxes down there to pick more standard sizes. The best size for most sites is by default, 640x390. 853x510 is big, and 1280x720 is practically considered fullscreen.

You can also tailor your own size by inserting the width and height in the box to the right.

By including related videos, the viewer can see related videos on the screen when they hover their mouse over the video. Might be annoying for some, but that's just a matter of taste.

By enabling privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube will not store cookies that are used to collect information of the user.

HTTPS is simply a safer way to browse the web. No outsider can see what you're doing. In this case, no outsider can see if someone watches the embedded video.

You should use the old embed code if you want the player to be flash. The default language is HTML5, which is not supported by old sites or services.

Now you know the basics of embedding a YouTube video.

But what if I want to embed my favorites or a playlist?

No worries! Just go to http://www.youtube.com/my_players

It's as easy as embedding a single video. No, wait! I think it's even easier!

When you first appear on the page, you will be right in business!

Player Information will only give the specific player a name and description for your enjoyment when you get visit the page again. Nobody else can see it.

You can change your player's color theme.

I believe it explains itself? IT's simply how your player's outskirt will look like. Click on the colors and the little preview will update automatically.

Layout lets you select the kind of player you want. The one to the left is a default little player, as if you would embed a single video. The player layout to the right shows the 8 following videos.

Note, this layout is a lot bigger than the single video

On the other hand, the single video layout, the left one, does have a little button right of the play button, which pops up the following videos. Yet, this is another matter of taste.

Now we get to decide what you want to show in your custom player.

By default there is your 'My Videos' which simply is all of the videos you've uploaded.

'My Favorites' is simply put the videos you have favorited.

You will also get an option to showcase a playlist, if you have created one.

Almost there!

Now you need to click on 'Generate Code' and you're all done!

This finishes your player. It will then generate the code for you. If you change anything in the player, where ever you've embedded the player, the changes will apply there!

Note, you can not change the player's layout afterwards, so be careful there! Then again, you can always create a new player.

Now that you've clicked the generate code button, you will be provided with the code you can paste anywhere.

It's made in flash, not HTML5, so it should work everywhere.

Please note, if you remove a player from your list of custom players, it will not disappear from the sites you've added it to.
